Hamid Jebelli’s photo exhibition, in memory of Atila Pesyani

The first exhibition of “Theatre Photo Night” and “Didar (Meeting)” on Friday, December 29,  2023, it was opened in Iran Artists’ House with the rare welcome of the people and the presence of a group of artists in the galleries of Paizi and Ostad Mirmiran, It was opened in Iran’s Artists’ House.

According to Artmag.ir, Hamid Jebelli, an artist, actor and director of cinema and television, said at the opening ceremony of the “Meeting” exhibition: I didn’t know what I could do for my friend Atila Pesyani, who we worked with before 1960. Because Mr. Pesyani had founded the play theater group and I worked with him as a photographer in the group, I chose these works for the show.

He added: The photos in the exhibition start from 1983 and 1984 and reach the last work of Atila Pesyani, when this happened. Unfortunately, I could not show them the latest photos in good quality. Hope you enjoy. It was the least I could do for a friend. I presented these photos to the Guild of Theater Photographers so that they could protect them in any way they could so that Atila’s memory remains for us.

Jebelli, following the ceremony, said: I thank the friends who came. All the elders, especially the theater photographers, are present and it is impossible to name all of them. I thank Mr. Asgarpour for providing this opportunity to the children of the community. Unfortunately, our conditions are getting worse day by day in terms of facilities and economy. Now, if there is no love, there is no theater photography. Because no one can really say that my job is theater photography and that I make a living from this work. I hope this issue will be resolved as well.

Hamid Jebelli, who has been working as a photographer for many years in addition to his various activities, has donated some of his photos, which were the result of his collaboration with the “Bazi” theater group headed by Atila Pesyani, to the Theater Photographers Association.

At the opening ceremony of this exhibition, artists from various fields of art such as Fatemeh Naghavi, Setareh Pesyani, Hootan Shakiba, Ebrahim Haghighi, Massoud Pakdel, Ali Asghar Dashti, Kiomars Moradi, Siamak Zomorodi Motlagh, Mohammad Zhiyan, Zohreh Behbahani, Ilnaz Shabani, Asghar Piran, Navid Jahanzadeh , Rahmat Amini, Tomaj Danesh Behzadi, Reza Mousavi, Ruhollah Haghgoy Lesan, Mohammad Mehdi Asgarpour, Mohammad Rasool Sadeghi and Mehdi Ashna were among those present at this event.
