Veteran photojournalist Ahmad Nasirpour has died

Ahmad Nasirpour, a veteran news photographer and former member of the board of directors of the Iranian photojournalist Association, passed away on Thursday morning, November 29, due to a heart attack at Firoozabadi Hospital.

Ahmad Nasirpour was a veteran news photographer, born in 1959. He was also a chemical warfare veteran who began photographing the imposed war.

During the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, Nasirpour took many lasting photographs on various battlefields and operations.

He spent his career in the Kayhan newspaper and was one of the first photographers in the country to retire as a photographer.

During the eight-year imposed war, the late Nasirpour participated in operations such as Tariq al-Quds, Karbala IV, the liberation of Khorramshahr, the Khyber West Unit, Valfajr Preliminary, Valfajr 3, 5, and 5.

Some of the titles he won were:
• Winner of Poverty and Poverty Alleviation Photo Contest, 1989
• The first person of Azadegan entry photo contest, 1991
• Second place in the child and adolescent photography competition
• Received a plaque of appreciation for being on the battlefield in the late sixties
• Received a plaque of appreciation from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for participating in the eight-year war fronts
• Received a plaque of appreciation from the Association of Press Photographers of Iran as a photographer of the Revolution on the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Tehran, February 10, 2009
